AIMS Computer Systems began in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1996 as the internal IT department for AIMS, Inc., a government contractor serving the U.S. Department of Energy and Department of Defense. With the infrastructure and expertise already in place, it was a natural evolution for us to begin designing and hosting websites and providing email services to clients.

In January 2001, AIMS Computer Systems became an independent company and has continued to deliver high-quality online services — including web design, email solutions, SEO, and a full suite of web-related support.

Data backup has always been a critical component of online security. Since our earliest days, we have provided both in-house and offsite backups for our client's websites, making the launch of AIMS Active Backup a natural progression in our service offerings.
